This one’s for us — For folks in the northern hemisphere (especially in the central USA). We are tired of the snow and ice — the generally nasty weather. In the Lembeh Strait (North Sulawesi, Indonesia), today it is about 85 degrees Fahrenheit (that’s about 29 C) and 80~ish percent humidity. Right now it is the rainy season, so overcast. But still: Snow? Ice? Not so much. It’s warm there. The sun will just about break through today (every day). Nice smells, fresh tropical fruit. Oh yeah, and the water is about 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Care for a swim?

This is a view across the Lembeh Strait from the walk in front of the cabin Nancy and I occupied at the Lembeh Resort … just three weeks ago. The tropical plants are lush and the view is fabulous. Lembeh Resort is on the western slope of the Lembeh Island. We faced about west-northwest, in the general direction of the sunset, towards the “mainland” island of North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

(Nikon D700 and Nikkor 28-300mm zoom at focal length 32mm, with a circular polarizer filter. HDR capture from nine shots bracketed for an EV range of -4EV to +4EV, at average ISO 200 and shutter speed 1/80.)
